Stamina is a gameplay element throughout Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.
Description[]
Stamina is an invisible meter that keeps track of a character's physical energy during motion. Each time they swing a sword "wildly" (without targeting) or run for extensive periods of time, stamina is drained from an unseen meter. When that meter is below a certain level, the character will grow exhausted. When exhausted, a character's running speed is decreased and their attack performance is greatly reduced, all noted by the character breathing heavily. Stamina recharges over time when the character does not perform any actions requiring the stamina gauge (limiting their movement to normal walking). The Stamina gauge recharges greatly if the character remains idle, as opposed to just normal walking. When the Magick Pool spell is in effect under the Chattur'gha or Mantorok alignments, Stamina is fully recharged every second or two.
Notes[]
- Despite running being a primary initial game function, its function and usage are not mentioned within the game's instruction manual. The only mention of it would be in the controller button pages that list what the buttons do.
- Using hacking or Action Replay cheats reveals that the game has an unseen Stamina gauge. It is unknown the true reason(s) for its removal.
- If one compares this meter to the other three used meters, the Stamina Meter would be the only meter to not use a specific alignment color.
