Clara is the protagonist of Shadow of the Eternals, the spiritual successor of Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. She is the handmaiden of Elizabeth Báthory as well as her lover and confidante. In addition, she has been recruited by the authorities in an attempt to find the missing - possibly deceased - daughter of an unnamed nobleman.
She is one of the chosen many who may read the Tome of Eternal Darkness; when Báthory first introduces her to the book she experiences a vision of Theodoric's experience at the Oublié Cathedral.
